Q:  Will having this machine decrease my sales?

A:   Having an Alcohol Alert machine in an establishment or at an event actually increases the drinks per customer ratio based on actual results. Some people find that they can drink more over time and remain under the legal limit by monitoring their BAC. Others identify that they need to make other arrangements to get home or designate a sober driver; then they continue to imbibe.

Q:  Will it increase my liability?

A:  Bar owners remain liable for customers they serve under dram shop law. Having an Alcohol Alert machine in your establishment should not increase that liability.  The machine carries the following disclaimer on the front panel:

"This device is a reasonable indicator of your breath alcohol at the time the test is taken,    when used as instructed. Food, weight, medications, health, and psychological conditions are factors other than alcohol which may affect your personal degree of impairment. Neither the manufacturer, the owner, nor this establishment can warrant the results derived by this instrument. Only the user is liable for any events which might possible be influenced through the use of this instrument. Users are responsible for their own actions, regardless of the results obtained from this instrument.

NOT FOR USE AS LEGAL EVIDENCE."

Q:  What if nobody uses it?

A:  People are naturally curious and it is human nature to test oneself when given the opportunity, regardless of what is being measured. Many people will retest themselves in an evening to check their condition. It is a win-win proposition for you as the bar owner or event organizer, and your patrons. It is a great message to the community; it makes you a leader and a good neighbor in the eyes of the public. People do use the machine, especially if they are promoted by signage on site.

Q:  How much will this cost me?

A:  There is nothing for you to buy. Our company retains ownership of the unit and we provide the straws for patron use as well as perform regular machine calibration.

Q:  What do I need to do to offer on-site BAC testing to my customers?

A:  Agree to have us install a unit in your establishment in an appropriate location with a standard power outlet. The units are not hard wired. We provide professional installation.

Q: Are machines available for events or parties?

A: Yes! Our machines can be rented or leased for your event. Please contact us for rates and terms.
